A huge congratulations goes out to Maritime Hockey Academy’s Sam Robertson on his recent essay win at the Can- Am Challenge Cup in Montreal, Quebec. Robertson, a grade 8 student, and his Bedford Blues Bantam AA team participated in the tournament February 12-14. The essay contest, which was about the writer’s “Meaning of Hockey”, was open to all players in the 8 team tournament with teams travelling from Massachusetts, Vermont, Ontario, and Minnesota. Sam worked on his essay for two weeks before submitting it at the opening ceremonies of the tournament. He found out the following day at the skills competition that he had won the top prize of $1,000. Great work Sam!
