Parent Testimonials Jun. 16, 2009
"Our boys have achieved so much at MHA this year. Certainly, the boys have both enjoyed their on-ice and off-ice workouts and I am sure that it has helped their skills.
On the academic side of things both boys have worked so very hard this year. Never before have we seen them put so much time into their studies. Few parents would be able to say that their children "enjoy" doing school work - certainly not us. But I can say that both of them worked independently without needing to be nagged about completing assignments or preparing for school. They came home everyday and went about their work and also set aside time on the weekends. They kept track of their own schedules and worked on their own to keep up. For the most part, they seemed to be very interested in the work that they were doing and often enjoyed telling us about it - more so than they ever did in the past. Everyday they packed their gear, lunches, clothing and texts without hesitation and no involvement from us. They took on these responsibilities in addition to the many hours a week that their hockey schedules demanded. They sacrificed other activities to do this - but they understood their commitment to MHA and their teams."
"We are very proud of the work that they did and I am certain they are proud of that as well. They are both aware that they covered more materials and they got a lot more out of their school work than ever before. I think that perhaps for the first time they understand that the things they are learning in school really will have an impact on their lives later on. They have both learned time management and organizational skills that will serve them throughout their lives."

"Even though we live within walking distance from a public school, we choose to drive our two boys daily to MHA because of: the small class sizes, family feel to the school, values promoted--virtues we need more of in our society, and the Love and Logic approach used to discipline."

"Maritime Hockey Academy offers students, who are passionate about hockey, the opportunity to integrate academics and athletics into their education. Our son experiences quality classroom time, and is improving his hockey skills through a sanctioned Hockey Canada program....what better way can a sports enthusiast excel at school!!!"
Parents of grade 7 student
"We enjoy this school a lot. The teacher/coaches are wonderful and extremely understanding. Our school's classroom sizes are perfect for a child to have one-on-one teaching/coaching if they don't understand something. Since the school is small we get to know each other like a family. Everyone is nice and welcoming no matter how you look, how you act, your religion, or your culture. We believe this is one of the best schools that let everyone have an equal chance in activities/hockey so they have a greater chance of achievement. So, if you want one of the best schools, please send your child to Maritime Hockey Academy to receive the best learning/hockey environment."
